They are the first two Islaimian women to be elected to the US Congress. That’s historic, an accomplishment that will be noted in the books forever. But rather than sit quietly to bask in the feat that the American people allowed and be grateful, they are constantly causing trouble. They are Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. And two days ago they were stirring the pot again.
Just as the day’s business in the House of Representatives was set to begin, the two stood and requested that all participate with them in the “Prayer of Alia-Din”, a Middle Eastern chant to celebrate the magic of the new day. “Alla-Din” roughly translates to “a whole new world” as each new day brings new opportunities.
The House members unanimously refused and that’s when things got ugly. Tlaib and Omar began to curse, shout, and throw falafel about the chamber. They refused to allow the session to begin without time set aside for the pagan ritual.
Eventually, security had to be called to have them removed and government moved again but by then half the day was lost. Without time enough to finish what was planned, Speaker Pelosi banged her gavel and closed up shop, losing an entire day of government
Representative Joseph Barron was present that day and described the scene:
“The AC was out and falafel was being pelted at us. Moldy falafel. Not even edible. Why they happened to have moldy falafel on their persons is a question I don’t even want to know the answer to. It was unpleasant to say the least.
Those two are out of control. They’re a menace and useless as Representatives of their districts. They should censures immediately.”
You heard the man - “menace”, “useless as Representatives”. Omar and Tlaib have wasted enough of the taxpayers’ dime. Let’s hope that the recall efforts already in progress to remove them from office are successful.
